Welcome to the memorial site for our mother, grandmother, cousin, teacher, and friend. This site is here to remind us of the gifts she brought to us.
Here’s a video made on the 6th anniversary of her passing, December 25, 2020 by the “Lori Goldschmidt Memorial Recorder Quartet”. Opening theme music is by the Navesink Ensemble. Do you recognize any of the costumes?
Here’s is Lori’s memorial service at the Monmouth County Unitarian Church in Lincroft, NJ.
Here’s a birthday cassette recording that Kim made for Lori. It was probably made in 1981 for her 52nd birthday, about a year after Kim moved to Seattle. Be sure to listen to the first 5 minutes on side A, and then side B, minute 43 to the end!

Side B:
We also uncovered some videos from the Muse Report that Lori did on the closed circuit TV network at Seabrook Village. Look on the Muse Report page.
Several videos were added to the music page, including a retirement party at the New School, and 3 full performances by the Navesink Ensemble.
Finally, the rest of the saved Goldschmidt slides from 1952 to 2000 have been uploaded.
This site has been created by Lori’s family and friends as a way to keep her memory alive and continue to share her unstoppable spirit and zest for life. Please browse the different sections for memories of your time with Lori, or learn something new about her.

Great idea for a site. I love it. Wish I’d done one for my mom.
Hi I am Laura Davis’s brother, formerly named Paul. I remember Laurie and it is great to see her pictures again. Much love to the whole family. I now live north of San Francisco.
Lori and my mother have been very good friends, and they got their baby-girls at the same day.I grew up in Germany, where I moved in the age of five, but we have been in touch as long I can remember. I never will forget our visits in their home in Riveredge Road. We felt very close, Lori was like an aunt for me. I never will forget our sightseeing tours in New York. “Hurry up, hurry up, there is a lot more to see”
She ist unforgetable, even for some German people!
Never will forget our visit in Princeton where we danced Contra-dance an whole evening. I think, it was October 1998.
Inge, Florian and Brigitte
What great times we had at folk dancing with Lori and Karl — never will forget them. Happy days!
