Lori was a professional music teacher most of her life. She specialized in the “Orff Schulwerk method“, created by and named after composer Carl Orff. You can read Lori’s autobiography of her involvement with music teaching and the Orff Schulwerk Association on the “Writings Blog“. I’ve added a rare photo of Lori learning the Orff method at CAMMAC camp in Quebec in 1961 or 1962.

Toward the end of her career, Lori taught at the New School of Monmouth County. Here’s a wonderful video that the school prepared for her at the time of her retirement.

This was actually not the end of her teaching career. She continued with drumming classes for Seabrook residents, led recorder groups for two levels of players, and lastly, gave piano lessons to her helper, Nadja.

Lori was an avid musician all her life. She enjoyed performing and sharing her love of music with others. She formed the Navesink Ensemble in 19xx. This group performed throughout New Jersey.
